- The Big Country Athletic Hall of Fame Class recently announced its Induction Class of 2025.Bill Grissom of Winters was the leading rusher at McMurry as a junior and senior in 1963 and 1964, and was among the survivors of the belly-landing plane crash involving the McMurry football team.

- A third generation in now living at 503 W. Mason Street in Stanton. James and Mildred Eiland built a home at 501 W. Mason and their friends Cliff Hazelwood Sr. and his wife Hope built a house next door at 503 W. Mason.Cliff Sr. died in 1986 and Hope moved to Manor Park in Midland.

Santa set to visit Glasscock County
