Final chapter written on Lady Cats season

GRADY – The varsity Lady Wildcats finished their season on Tuesday with a 40-32 loss to Klondike.

Delaney Saunders led the team in scoring with 11 points and Jessi Everett pitched in with seven.

Maddy Garza end the game with five points while Sage McAnally, Haydn Burge, and Ashley Hill tossed in three points each.

The Lady Cats finished their season 22-9.

“We were in the championship game of all the tournaments we competed in this year and won two,” said Grady coach Jacinda Langen. “District didn’t go like we had hoped as we finished 4-6”.

Grady suffered a big loss when Raina Short tore her ACL on Dec. 20.

“As a team we had a difficult time finding ourselves after Raina’s injury,” said Langen. “I’m very proud of these young ladies. No matter what obstacles were thrown in front of them, they continued to work hard and play hard.”

Langen added, “Our two seniors, Maddy Garza and Haydn Burge will be greatly missed, but we are looking to and working for next year.”
