STANTON - Stanton’s junior varsity softball team defended the home diamond Tuesday night with an 11-10 victory over Colorado City.
The Lady Wolves came out the gate hot scoring three first inning runs. Luckily, Stanton answered with five runs in the bottom of the first inning to take control.
Colorado City added two runs in the second to tie the game a 5-5.
The Wolves would re-take the lead in the fourth inning with five big runs. Stanton managed a three run response to keep the game manageable at 10-8.
In their final at bat and trailing by two runs, Stanton’s bats came to life an provided three runs to steal the win.
Juarez led Stanton with three runs.
Lawrence, Hensley, and Murry scored two runs each and Reyes and Param added one run each.
The varsity Lady Buffaloes were not as successful despite scoring double digits.
After eight innings of play, Colorado City had a 21-13 victory.
Gonzales led Stanton with four runs scored.
Chapa and Ramirez had three runs each while Johnson, Lozano, and Bratcher rounded the bags one time each.
