MERTZON - The Grady Wildcats high school cross country teams competed in the Spring Creek Cross Country meet in Mertzon on Sept. 16.

The Wildcats varsity boys finished fourth in the team standings.

Hagan O'Donnell was the best runner on the course winning the varsity division with a time of 19:55.01. He was followed by Logan Aaron who finished 14th with a time of 22:45.

Austin Aaron finished 15th running a time of 22:46 and Hunter Blaylock placed 16th with his time of 22:50. Cooper Sims completed the course 25:32 to finish 31st.

In the JV division, Rusty Shock finished first with a time of 14:09 on the two-mile course. He was followed by Arath Alarcon who placed 16th with a time of 16:55. Matthew Grant finished 19th in a time of 17:36.

Grady’s varsity girls did not have enough runner for a team but the two competitors that did run were impressive. Yareli Rodriguez finished 15th and ran a 16:35 and Makayla Oviedo was 21st with her time of 16:57.

The next meet on the schedule is Sept. 26 in Lubbock with the teams running at 6 p.m.
