WINK – The Wink Wildcats used two huge quarters to hand Grady a 69-39 loss last Friday in Wink.
Wink opened the game with a 20-9 run before slowing down and playing Grady even with both teams scoring 10 points in the second quarter giving Wink a 30-19 halftime lead.
Wink exploded for 27 points in the third quarter and cruised through the fourth earning the lopsided win.
Gunnar Rivas was the top scorer for Grady posting 13 points and Austin Aaron added seven.
Frankie Jimenez, Quint Harrell, and Blaise Warren finished the game with four points each and Logan Aaron and Cooper Wallin had two points each. Cobe Cortez chipped in with one point.
“This was a tough game against a very good Wink ball club,” said Grady coach Chris Short. “We were not able to control their big guys in the paint. Very poor third quarter for us and a very strong quarter for them was a big factor in the game. Our kids fought hard but were just out matched this night.”
Grady will host Hermleigh on Friday at 7:45 p.m. and will then travel to Forsan on Saturday for a 12:15 tip-off.
