JV Wildcats split weekend games

GRADY – Grady’s junior varsity boys hosted two teams this weekend and split their victories with Hermleigh and Forsan.

Grady was too talented for Hermleigh on Friday coasting to a 48-33 win.

“It was a great game for this group of Wildcats. Great contribution from all the players on both ends of the floor,” said Grady coach Chris Short. “The coaching staff is very proud of this group’s work ethic. They are a fun group to watch play and coach.”

Chapman Sims scored a game high and season high 19 points.

Aaron Rodgers finished in double digits with 11 points and Colt Carson added six points.

Austin Snider and Kody Cates totaled four points each followed by Blake Parker with two points, Cyle Taylor one point and Stetson Foster one point.

The next day Grady hosted Forsan.

The Buffaloes were too strong from start to finish and hand Grady a 53-31 loss.

“This was a tough matchup for us,” stated Short. “The kids worked hard, but Forsan was just too strong and athletic for us tonight. This was the first loss of the season for the junior varsity team.”

Rodgers scored a season high 14 points and Cates also had a season high 12 points.

Snider and Sims contributed three and two points respectively.
