WINK - Grady High School netters brought home a bunch of hardward from the Wink Tennis Tournament last Thursday.
Schools attending the tournament were Alpine, Crane, Fort Davis, Grady, Reagan County junior varsity, Van Horn, and Wink junior varsity.
Competing for Grady were freshmen Matejo DeAnda, Hunter Blaylock, Kody Cates, Hunter McAnally, Chapman Sims, Samantha Griffin, and Aspen Durham; Junior Frankie Jimenez; Seniors Cooper Sims, Raina Short, Gunnar Rivas, and Isaiah Onitveros.
“This was our first tennis meet for most of the players,” stated Grady coach Chris Short. “They competed very well and played hard. I was very proud of all the kids.”
Raina Short and Samantha Griffin were the top team in girls doubles winning firsts place.
Cooper Sims and Chapman Sims finished second the boys doubles.
Gunnar Rivas was third in the boys singles division.
Kody Cates and Matejo DeAnda were consolation champions in the boys doubles division.
