LUBBOCK - The Garden City Bearkats had a perfect three game run and won the Sterling City Tournament on Dec. 30 and 31.
Garden City opened the tournament with a massive victory of McCamey and followed up with a 44-29 thumping of Westbrook.
Those two wins earned Garden City the right to play Grady for the title.
The Bearkats took the early lead and never looked back claiming the crown with a 39-32 performance.
Julio Talamantes was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Players and Mason Walker was selected to the All-Tournament Team.
