Alberts, Orona, Lozano take top lifter awards at Coahoma Invitational

COAHOMA – Stanton’s powerlifters traveled to Coahoma last week and competed at the Coahoma Invitational.

The Buffaloes finished sixth in the team standings.

Payden Alberts took first place in the 308 division with a combine total of 1580 pounds. He was named Best lifter on the Heavy Platform.

Cristian Orona was the Best Lifter on the Light Platform with his massive lift of 1165 pounds in the 123 weight class.

Lifting in the 275 division were Cooper Gernentz and Joseph Weaver. Gernentz was fifth and Weaver sixth with totals of 955 and 765 respectively.

In the 242 division, Jacob Day placed fifth lifting 1160 and Reid Turney was 10th recording an 820.

John-Allan Carby competed in the 220 class and placed 7th with an 865 while Landen McDaniel and Jake Benedict lifted in the 181 class and placed eighth and ninth respectively with totals of 855 and 835.

Kameron Isemann totaled 950 pounds to place seventh in the 165 class and finally Tyler Waggoner tallied 915 pounds to finish third in the 148 class.

The Lady Buffaloes took third place in the team standings.

Marisela Lozano finish first in the 259 weight lass with a lift of 1025. She was also named Best Lifter on the Heavy Platform.

Also winning a gold medal was Nicole Hill. She recorded a total of 585 to finish first in the 123 pound division.

In the 220 division, Jillian Reyes finished second lifting 675 pounds. Jazmin Juarez and Kaylea Day came in sixth and seventh with their lifts of 510 and 500.

Natalie Taylor and Ariceli Martinez competed in the 165 class and placed eight and 11th recording totals of 585 and 455.

Wrapping up the meet results were Brittyn Carson and Paisley Carby. Carson was third in the 114 class with a lift of 460 and Carby took second in the 105 class recording a total of 420.
