STANTON – The Stanton Junior High Buffaloes had some good performances against Coahoma and Sonora picking up four nice wins.
The seventh grade A team beat the Bulldogs 32-28.
Tagen Salgado and Brian Dominguez led the Buffs in scoring with eight points each and Jayden Hinojosa added six points.
Braydn Garcia and Marcus Glover finished the game with four points each and Oscar Salcido had two points.
The seventh grade B team crushed Coahoma 30-16.
Isaiah Garcia was high point for Stanton with eight while Caleb Camps, Vicente Rodriguez, and Zekeriah Trevino added four points each. Kaleb Bernal, Noah Lozano, Tay Walker, Lucas Whitaker, and Exavier Ramos rounded out the books with two points each.
Stanton’s eighth grade a team used a big second quarter to beat Sonora 18-14.
Nathan Armendarez and Parker Webb led Stanton with six points each. Isaiah DeLeon, Gage McCown, and Kolton Bruner ended the night with three, two, and one point respectively.
The eighth grade B team also beat Sonora. After being tied at halftime, the Buffs had a big third quarter to take the lead and hold on for the 18-10 victory.
