LUBBOCK - The Garden City varsity girl’s golf team traveled to Lubbock this week to compete in the Class A Region I Golf Tournament at Reese Golf Center.
After two days of brilliant golf, the Lady Kats are Region 1 Golf Champions.
“The girls played really well on the first day and had a 13 stroke lead,” said coach David Wood. “The second day the Lady Kats increased their lead by 30 strokes.”
Shelby Braden ended up in a playoff for 2nd place as an individual overall. The girls will compete at the Class A State Tournament at Plum Creek Golf Course in Kyle.
