LEVELLAND - The Garden City Bearkats and Lady Kats competed in the Region I-1A Track Meet this past weekend at South Plains College in Levelland.
Pole vaulters Blain Walts and Sebastian Balcazar along with the 4x400m Relay team of Mason Walker, John Lopez, Denton Roe and Sebastian Balcazar, all qualiied for the State Track Meet in Austin.

The 4x400 Relay team currently has the second best time in the state behind district rival Klondike.
Walts is sitting fifth after his vault of 11-6 and Balcazar is eighth after clearing 11-3 at regionals.
