Ashlynn Peugh, a Junior at Grady, competed last week in the State UIL Speech and Debate Tournament in Austin. She received two medals.
She was the District and Regional Champion in LD Debate this year. She finished in 6th place at the state tournament. She was coached by Shanna Peugh and Gracelyn Doss.
She also competed in Persuasive Speaking. She finished 3rd at both the District and Regional level. At the State contest, she also finished as the Bronze Medalist. She was coached by Wendy Glaze.
Earlier this year, she also competed in Congressional Debate. She finished as the Regional Runner Up and Top Presiding Officer. At state she served as a presiding officer and received 4th place.
The Grady Speech team finished as runner ups on the District and Regional level. The speech team finished 4th at the State Contest.
