MENARD - Thursday night, the Garden City junior varsity football team traveled to Menard and came away with a convincing win to move their record to 2-0 on the year.
The Bearkats defense did not allow the Yellowjacket’s air attack to get going.
Multiple sacks were tallied by the front three of Roberto Almazan, Jared Lopez and Andreas Huerta.
Presley Jost accounted for two interceptions on the night to stifle the opponent’s passing game.
The Bearkats offense was led by Uziel Lopez who caught two touchdown passes and threw for another. Levi Easterling finished the night with two touchdown receptions and Andreas Huerta added one on the ground.
