STANTON - The Stanton varsity girls basketball team won all four of their games at the Hooptown Classic to win the championship for the second straight year.
Stanton opened the tournament against Colorado City. The game was practically decided right after the tipoff as Stanton rolled to a 46-17 victory.

Thursday night, Stanton battled a tough Rankin team.
The Lady Buffs held on late for a 50-43 win.

Stanton battled Lamesa on Friday night. It was a very physical contest with Stanton squeaking by 27-24.
April Villa - 7 pts, 3 steals; Shelby Phillips - 5 pts; Madeleine Mathes - 7 pts, 5 reb.
In the championship game on Saturday, Stanton played much better and crushed Pecos 56-27.
Rylee Murry - 9 pts, 7 reb; Madeleine Mathes - 17 pts, 3 reb; April Villa - 8 pts, 6 steals; Shelby Phillips - 7 pts, 4 reb; Aubrey Villa - 8 pts.
Tournament MVP went to Madeleine Mathes while April Villa and Shelby Phillips were named to the All Tournament Team.
