- Grady’s high school golf teams competed in the District 8A Tournament on Wednesday Apr. 5 at Gaines County Golf Course in Seminole.
“I was very proud of these young players. Only one of the nine players have ever played high school golf up until this year,” said coach Chris Short.
In the girl’s division, Audry Marler was the Overall District Champion shooting an 83.
The Lady Cats were District’s Team Champions.
The team consists of Alyssa Oviedo, Joslynn Mata, Audrey Marler, Raegan Dennis, and Aislynn Mendoza.
In the boy’s division, Cal McMorries was the District Runner-up shooting a 109.
The Wildcats finished as District Runner-Up in the team standings.
Truman Stack, Cal McMorries, Patrick Weitzel, and Marcus Brown made up the team.
Both teams advanced to the Regional Golf Tournament on Apr. 17 and 18 in Lubbock.
