- The Grady Wildcats basketball season came to an end Tuesday night in the Bi-District round of the Class A playoff at Tahoka High School.
The Wildcats were up against Morton in what promised to be a highly competitive contest.
Both teams started off hot scoring double digits in the first quarter but Morton was slightly better taking a three point lead.
The Wildcats responded with a spectacular eight minute run of 13 points for a 24-21 halftime lead.
After halftime, Morton stole all the momentum and rattled off 17 points to take control of the game at 38-32.
Morton kept control of the scoreboard throughout the fourth quarter for a 52-44 victory.
“We knew going into this game that it was going to be a battle. Morton has a good team. This was our 4th time to play the past two years. We knew we were going to have to play well on both ends of the floor to have a chance,” said Grady coach Chris Short. “I was very proud of all the kids that played. We got down 14 points in the 4th quarter and battled back to within 6 points. Our kids showed a lot of heart and left everything out on the floor. I could not be any more pleased with our effort.”
