Fifth-Grader Hayzen Halfmann wins Grand Champion at San Antonio show

Hayzen Halfmann — a Garden City elementary student and avid showman — was recently named the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Grand Champion Market Lamb winner. She joined the lamb industry just three years ago, and has also worked with goats for seven years.

After nearly two months of rerouted mail and extra trips to Tarzan, the Stanton Post Office will officially reopen its doors March 2.The building has been closed since a Jan. 9 fire caused by a malfunction in the heating and air conditioning system left smoke damage throughout the facility.

7-year-old boy among two killed in Martin County crash

MARTIN COUNTY - Two people, including a 7-yearold child, were killed and three others were injured in a twovehicle crash Thursday night in Martin County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.It occurred at approximately 8 p.m. Feb. 19 on State Highway 349 near mile marker 316.

Martin, Glasscock Counties see average turnout as early voting begins

- Early voting is now underway across Texas for the March 3 primary election.Polls opened Tuesday, Feb. 17, and will remain open through Friday, Feb. 27.. The primary will determine which candidates advance to the ballot for the November general election.

Glasscock County FFA brings home two dozen blue ribbons at ag mechanics show

Glasscock County FFA students displayed their months of hard work as they showed their projects at the San Angelo Agricultural Mechanics Show on Feb. 6. There were 37 students competing with 27 projects spread across different categories.
