“Paul and Timothy, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus, which are at Phillippi, with the bishops and deacons: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ” [Phil.1:1].

Who is this written to? Let’s look at that first. “To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: Notice, it says to those who are IN Christ Jesus, even the leaders. It was carried to Philippi but we could add, Stanton, Midland, Odessa, Big Spring and all who read this scripture. Paul is writing this speaking of the hardships he was going through because of the ministry God had called him to do. So today we can see this as all the saints in Christ Jesus, not forgetting the leaders of the church. He writes it under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, saying “For I know that this will turn out for my salvation through your prayer and the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ”[Phil.1:19].This is written to and for you and me.

Now we know Paul was already saved, already “Born Again.” He was in chains, yet He said “I Know” He knew that what satan meant for bad, Jesus would turn to good. Because of the prayers of the saints, there was a supply of the power of the Spirit of Christ taking care of him. “Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, who’s faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct. [Heb. 13:7].

This year is going to be a very important time for all the saints in Christ Jesus. As we continue in this New Year, I pray we will pray for each other and our leaders, the leaders in our churches to speak the whole word. There will be churches that fall, because of not speaking the truth, some for lifting up their dynasties instead of Jesus. Our prayers will make an impact on the amount of faith the leaders have, affecting their conduct.

“Let every soul be subject to the Governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. Therefore whoever resist the authority resist the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves”[Rom.13:1-2].

This is very serious, it does not say if we like them, we are to pray for our leaders and let the Power of the Lord be responsible for the effect of their conduct, whether we like them or not.

He can change the mind of Kings, so He can change the minds of leaders.

There is more in it for us if we pray like Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy Will Be Done Here on Earth as It is in Heaven.” We might start by looking for the good and thank God for the glass being half full instead of complaining about the glass being half empty. T

hat will work in our on personal lives as well as for our nation, church, city and the world. Then it says “Grace be unto you, and peace; from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus.” Jesus is the only true peace.

We may have forgotten a scripture God gave us, His people who are in Christ Jesus.

“If My People which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven , and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land”[2 Chr.7:11].

When God says “Then will I” if we look at what He said to do, THEN we can have what He promised us. If we obey, before the THEN, “There is More.”
