In history we see where Israel would come to God, and then slip back away from Him, they would come again into His will and slip away once more. It had much to do with the leaders of the nation at that time. They had good kings then bad kings.

We see, people or groups of people doing the same thing today, History repeats itself. One of these recordings in the bible was Israel’s fellowship with God diminished. God said “I still have a group of people who have not bowed their knee to Baal. There is still a remnant according to the election of grace, Israel has not obtained what it seeks and they were hardened, but the elect obtained it” [Rom. 11:].

“Just as it is written: God has given them over to the spirit of stupor or slumber, eyes that they should not see and ears that that should not hear, to this very day”[ Read-Rom. 11:1-11]. There are many people who are in that place today. They are walking with Baal and do not even realize it.[Read Jere. 9:14]. No time for God or the things of God. In other words God let them go their own way, because He never takes away our free choice. Like the church in Revelation, that thought they were rich and had no need for anything. God said they were poor because they had chosen the things of this world instead of the eternal riches in Christ Jesus.

“And David said “Let their table be a snare, and a trap, and a stumbling block, and a recompense unto them: let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow their back always”[Rom.11:9-10]. Notice it said “Their” table would be a snare, a trap, a stumbling, causing blindness, also, that they would bow their backs always? You do see people sometime that look like they have carried a burden all their life. Jesus said “come to me ye who are heavy laden and I will give you rest”[Matt. 11:28]. He said He would take our burdens.

But there is a God in heaven , that when Israel repented and got a leader that brought them back to God and tore down the alters of Baal, God forgave their sins and showed them favor again. God has always had a remnant that has not bowed their knee to Baal.

To those who return to Him, to those who overcome, to those who abide in Him, the Word says “Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil, my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow meal the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever”[Ps.23:5-6].

He shows our enemies He is taking care of us, even the demons. The anointing shows He has given us the power and wisdom to live in victory and our cup running over shows He supplies more than enough. To have mercy and goodness with us at all times is overwhelming enough, but to think of dwelling in the house of the Lord forever should make us ecstatic. And that is only two verses out of Psalm 23.

God is still the same God today. He said “I am the Lord thy God and I change not.” For those who have a heart for Him with true repentance, He has arms open to receive you and He will move into your heart. He will start the greatest transformation in your life that cannot be explained with words. Only with His supernatural can you receive forgiveness for sin, which is the “Weakness of Man”
