WWI exhibit coming to Midland

MIDLAND - Midland College is proud to host an exhibit provided by the Smithsonian Institute in conjunction with the United States World War One Centennial Commission.

The exhibit, entitled World War I: Lessons and Legacies, will explore the war and its lasting impact and far-reaching influence on American life.

The exhibit will be open from February 6, 2020 to August 31, 2020.

A series of lectures has been scheduled to delve more deeply into topics related to World War I.

The lectures are free and open to the public and will be held on the first floor of the Fasken Learning Resource Center.

Events will include: -WW1 Overview Thursday, February 6 @ 12 noon -Art, Music, & Poetry Monday, February 10 @ 12 noon -Art, Music, & Poetry Wednesday, February 12 @ 12 noon -Black/African Caribbeans & Africans of the Commonwealth in WW1 Wednesday, February 19 @ 12 noon -Over Here: Internal U.S. Immigration and Immigration across the Atlantic Tuesday, February 25 @ 12 noon -Women in the War Wednesday, March 4 @ 12 noon -Tracing Ancestry to WW1 Tuesday, March 17 @ 12 noon - Legacies of WW1 Thursday, March 19 @ 12 noon
