GRADY – The Grady Wildcats junior varsity started the season almost unbeatable but has struggled as of late and lost two more district games this past week.
Grady had a decent first quarter taking an 11-8 lead but Sands rallied to take a 22-19 halftime lead.
The Mustangs stretched their advantage to 35-27 over the third quarter and while Grady attempted a mad comeback fell short 40-37.
Kody Cates finished with a game and season high 18 points and Chapman Sims added 11 points.
Colt Carson scored four points while Austin Snider had three and Cyle Taylor had two.
Grady hoped to return to its winning ways on Tuesday against Klondike.
The Wildcats played their best basketball in the first half but still trailed 32-15 at halftime.
Klondike played a perfect third quarter and went on to win 46-22.
Sims led Grady in scoring with nine points and Snider and Carson added four points each.
Stetson Foster and Taylor chipped in two points each and Cates totaled on point.
Grady’s season record stands at 8-5.
