STANTON - The Lady Buffs softball team is looking good in the early games of the 2021 season.
On Tuesday, Stanton hosted the McCamey Badgers.
The Buffs took a 1-0 lead after the first inning and held a 3-1 lead after the third.
McCamey tied the game in the top of the fourth but Stanton answered with a run in the bottom of the inning.
Stanton exploded in the fifth and sixth inning outscoring the Badgers 11-3, making the final score 15-6.
Mikah Kargle and Trinity Johnson split the pitching duties for Stanton.
Kargle had one strike out and one walk while giving up three runs. Johnston struk out three, walked one, and had three earned runs.
Lilliana Rodriguez, Johnson, and Zoey Ruiz lead Stanton at the plate with three hits each.
Kargle and Melissa Hensley recorded two hits each while Julissa Ramirez, Marisela Lozano, Miracle Gonzales, and Rylee Murry had one hit apiece.
Ruiz rounded the bases three times to lead the Buffs with three runs.
Ramirez, Johnson, Margle, and Hensley scored two times each and Analiese Gonzales Rodriguez, Lozano, and Jillian Reyes touched home plate once apiece.
Earning two RBI’s were Rodriguez and Kargle while knocking in an RBI were Lozano, Gonzales, Hensley, and Murry.
Johnson and Kargle each had two doubles while Murry, Hensley, and Rodriguez had one double each.
