MIDLAND - She Ruth Key died Aug. 18, 2022 in Midland. She was born to Clyde and Mossie Akins in Nelta, on Aug. 21, 1929. She attended elementary school in Nelta and graduated from Sulphur Bluff High School in 1946.

MIDLAND - Wilma Dean O'Bannon Webb Cunningham, 88, died at home on June 17, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Malcom William 'Mac' O'Bannon and Freddy Pruett O'Bannon, one brother, Malcolm Marion O'Bannon, husband and father of her children, Donald E. Webb, husband James R.

Lou Vena Tunnell

HOUSTON - Lou Vena Tunnell was born on Sept. 5, 1935 to Vera and Jim McCoy in Knox. She died on Aug. 8, 2022, while vacationing in Seaside Beach, Florida. She grew up in the small West Texas town of Stanton, where her grandfather owned the hardware store and her father was the Justice of the Peace.

Maria Magdalena Ramos

STANTON - Maria Magdalena Ramos, 61 of Stanton, died Aug. 18, 2022. She was born Jan. 9, 1961, to the late Pablo Ramos and Maria L. Martinez in Brownsville. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She was very talented.

YeHaw MeMaw

YeHaw MeMaw was a lot of fun for her grandchildren and she was known for entering a room with a big 'YeHaw', at times dressed as Cowboy Santa or as a Leprechaun to celebrate her Irish heritage. In 2002 she retired and moved to Midland, TX to care for her mother and brother.

Joyce Thea Lucas

STANTON - Joyce Thea Lucas, 87, died Aug. 10, 2022. He was born in Runnels County on Aug. 21, 1935. He graduated from Winters High School and married Ruby Kruse, on June 6, 1953. He had an exceedingly full life as a father, grandfather and committed employee in the gas industry.

Karl Herzog

DRIFTWOOD - Karl Herzog, 72 of Driftwood, died on Aug. 10, 2022, after a lengthy illness. He had been happily married for 53 years to Cathy Hazlewood Herzog, who survives him.

Alicia Marquez

STANTON - Alicia “Licha” Marquez died July 31, 2022, with family and friends by her side. She was born Sept. 23, 1945. She lived in Stanton with the love of her life Daniel “Nene” Marquez, where they raised their children. She retired from the Stanton Elementary School after 27 years.

Gordon Campbell Stone

FORT WORTH - Gordon Campbell Stone, 85, died at home in Fort Worth on July 28, 2022, surrounded by family. Celebration of Life will be at 2:30 p.m., Aug. 6, in Greenwood Chapel, Fort Worth, with family receiving friends at a reception immediately following.
