COAHOMA – The Stanton Buffaloes grid iron struggles continued on Friday night as Coahoma cruised to a 61-8 District 2AAA victory at Bulldog Stadium in Coahoma. Stanton’s offense stuck to the ground with 53 rushing attempts. Isaiah Reyna led the team with 65 yards followed by Adrian De La O with 50, Tyler Benedict 44, Austin Hewtty 29, Miguel Moreno 22, Cody Beasley 17 and Jaxson Lindell 6. Peyton Barnhill completed one pass for seven nine yards and benedict had one completion for seven yards. Cody Beasley caught both passes for 16 yards. Defensively the Buffs were led by Marco Armendarez with seven tackles and Cody Hensley and Beasley with six tackles each. Onyx Mendez and Eleazer Madrid brought down four Bulldogs each and Barnhill recorded three tackles. Josh Hensley, De La O, Lindell, Migeul Moreno, Benedict, and Chandler Denson had two tackles each and Braden Waggoner, Hewtty, Reyna, Ashton Smith, Roberto Perez and Jaime Aguirre finished the game with one tackle a piece. Stanton will play its final home game of the season on Friday against Idalou at 7:30 p.m.
