Grady track teams qualify 17 athletes for Region I-A meet

– Grady competed in the Area Track Meet on Apr. 14 at Lubbock Cooper High School. The Lady Cats had a great meet finishing second in the team standings while the Wildcats came in fourth as a team.

Buffaloes shine at district meet; Relay team sets new school record

– Stanton’s high school track and field teams were in Crane last week competing in the District 4 AAA UIL Track Meet. Winning gold and being crowned district champions were Koli Madison and Angelo Holly.

Lady Buffs fall to Alpine in extra innings

– Stanton’s softball team took an early lead against Alpine on Friday, but the Lady Bucks managed to battle back and score three late runs to beat Stanton. The Lady Buffs scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning for the first runs of the game.

- Garden City competed in the Area Track Meet on Apr. 14 at O.K. Wolfenbarger Stadium at Irion County High School. The Lady Kats were crowned team Champions and the Bearkats finished second in the team standings.

The Garden City Lady Bearkats led the Region II-A Golf Championships from start to finish claiming the team title and qualifying for a the State Tournament in Kyle. The Lady Kats played two rounds of golf this week at the Maxwell Golf Course in Abilene.

- The District 8-1A Track Meet was held in Sands and the Grady Wildcats and Lady Cats had a great showing, rising to the occasion and performing better than they have all year. With such great performances, the Wildcats were able to win the Team District Championship by scoring 190 Points.

Garden City Bearkats dominate district track meet

– Garden City hosted the District 11-A Track and Field Championships on Apr 6. Both Garden City varsity teams won the team titles and the Garden City junior varsity girls also won the team title. Garden City’s junior varsity boys took second place in the team race.

- Grady’s high school golf teams competed in the District 8A Tournament on Wednesday Apr. 5 at Gaines County Golf Course in Seminole. “I was very proud of these young players. Only one of the nine players have ever played high school golf up until this year,” said coach Chris Short.
