Glasscock board of trustees amends school calendar

- Last week the GCISD Board of Trustees approved amendments to the 2023-2024 school calendar. Changes: August 25th is now a school holiday. April 19th is now a school holiday. The bad weather day originally scheduled for May 10th has been moved to May 3rd. 2023-2024 School Calendar:

Former Martin County couple, J.C. and Dorothy Newland Celebrate 75 Years

- J.C. and Dorothy Newland live in the retirement center of Lakewood Village in Fort Worth, Texas. They will be celebrating their 75th wedding anniversary on May 29, 2023. But they first met about 1944 when they were freshmen at Stanton High School, halfway between Midland and Big Spring, Texas.
