- Stanton Middle School has released the names of its students earning grades high enough to make the Third Six-Weeks honor rolls.

Wind energy provider makes contribution toward new fire truck

- Energy transmission provider, Wind Energy Transmission Texas (WETT), recently made a $10,000 donation toward the much-needed new brush fire truck for the Garden City/ Glasscock County Volunteer Fire Department.

Lady Cats split district openers

- The Grady Varsity girls started district play this past week on the road at Dawson and at home against Klondike. It took a little while for the Lady Cats to get going, but they used a big third quarter to surge ahead and come away with a 46-12 victory.
