SAN ANGELO - George Eugene Grim died Feb. 14, 2021, in San Angelo. Funeral services were Feb. 20, at the Robert Lee Baptist Church. The family will have a private burial at a later date. Arrangements were by Shaffer Funeral Home.
He was born Aug. 17, 1944, to his parents, Eugene Abraham Grim and Mary Katherine (Pinick) Grim. He graduated from Hartford High School in Hartford, Arkansas, and served in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, by brother, David Grim, sister, Mary Jean Handley, brother Richard Grim and his wife, Robia Grim.
He is survived by his three devoted children and their families: a son, Greg Grim and wife Misti of Marble Falls, Texas, daughter Melissa Herring and husband Jim of Stanton, Texas, and daughter Shelbi Eugenis and husband Eric, of Lubbock, Texas. George had many adoring grandchildren, including Brittani and Hector Juarez, Ashley and Aubrey Hanes, Kyle Russell and Kali Mendez, Jared and Lynda Russell, Christian and Megan Herring, Amanda and Lance Medrano, Amelia Herring and Bryan Duarte, Jacob Eugenis, Caleb Eugenis, and Emili Eugenis. In addition, his cherished greatgrandchildren include Addyson, Avery, Audri, Aubri, Zoei, Acelyn, Jaxon, Aiden, Christian, Kannon, Maisyn, Elijah, and Judah. He is also survived by sister, Cindy Hays, and husband Hank, brother-in-law Melvin Handley and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was a member of the Robert Lee Baptist church, where he served as deacon. He was a long time employee of Robert Lee Independent School District, from which he retired. He continued to serve Robert Lee ISD as a school board member until his death. If he wasn't helping at the church, you could find him out tending the Robert Lee Cemetery, or helping anyone who called on him. He was a friend to all in Robert Lee, and loved by so many.
