COLORADO CITY - Annie Rose Shock, 91 of Colorado City, died Apr. 14, 2021 at her residence. She was born August 11, 1929, in Seymour, to the late William and Gertrude (Reinke) Wirz.
She married Vernon Neil Shock on Nov. 22, 1951 in Wichita Falls and they began their life together in Midland. They were owners of Houck's Jewelry for 32 years. She also a schoolteacher at South Elementary from 1951-1961. She was a member of Altrusa Civic Group and was a Lady Lion of the Downtown Lions Club.
She is survived by her sons Billy Shock and wife Elaine of Brady, Danny Shock and wife Beth of Midland, and Jim Shock and wife Belinda of Colorado City; brothers Paul Wirz and wife Diane of Tennessee and Jimmy Wirz and wife Linda of Missouri; nine grandchildren Cam and Tana Shock of Tarzan, Sheriden and Bodie Shock of Uvalde, Seth and Amber Shock of Knott, Megan Vaughn (Bucky), Garrett Shock, Hannah Stacy and Hillori Shock, all of Midland, James and Valerie Shock of Elkhart and Kurtis and Brandy Herpeche of Princeton; and 15 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Shock; parents, William and Gertrude Wirz; brothers: William, Bennie, George, Buddy and Herbert Wirz; and sister, Margaret Langford.
Graveside services will be Apr. 22, at 1 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Charles Teixeira officiating. Honorary pallbearers are Cam Shock, Seth Shock, James Shock, Garrett Shock, Bodie Nunn and Kurtis Herpeche.
