Ortiz, 77, died peacefully surrounded by his family on June 14, 2021.
He was born May 7, 1944 in Mercedes. He lived in Stanton most of his life where he and his wife raised six children who will miss him tremendously.
He loved working and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Visitation and rosary were June 16 at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. June 17, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his son Raymond Ortiz.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Mary Ortiz; daughters, Norma Ortiz, Martha Ortiz; sons, Jose Ortiz, Carlos Ortiz, JJ Ortiz; sister, Irene Chavira; brother, Juan Ortiz; 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Brayden Ortiz, Brody Ortiz, Austin Hewtty, Quincy Brown, Joe Benny Hernandez, Xander Cuellar, Tagen Salgado, and Eric Martel.
Arrangements are entrusted to Stanton Memorial Funeral Home & Chapel.
