Wade Bennerr McClure

MIDLAND - Wade Bennett McClure, Sr., 78 of Midland, died Sept. 5, 2021. Viewing will be Sept. 9, from 8 am - 9 pm and Sept. 10, from 8 am - 9 pm at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Sept. 11, at 2 pm at Santa Anna Cemetery in Santa Anna.

He was born on Oct. 12, 1942, to Ruby and Orin McClure in Coleman. He played football and basketball in high school. He graduated from Plainview High School in 1961. He went on to marry his high school sweetheart, Carol Lee Matsler.

He was a farmer in Plainview until 1981 when they moved their family to Martin County. He was a hot oiler/truck driver for over 40 years. In 2013 he then took a job as a pusher for McClure and Son Trucking. He worked for them until 2018. He never met a stranger, was a kind gentle man who worked hard to provide for his family. He enjoyed watching his sons participate in Rodeo and traveled with them wherever they went. He was the type of person that would give you the shirt off his back without any question. He loved westerns, dancing, country music and the American Legion where he and his wife were members for many years.

He is survived by his son Wade Bennett Jr. Of Midland, and his children Austin and Michaela; son Mat McClure of Midland, his wife Gloria and children Chrissy Reed of Midland, and Matthew McClure of Aledo; Don McClure of Midland, his wife Rhonda and children Ashley Hastings of Buchanan Dam, Robin Rodgers of Minneola, FL., Ashley Sanenz of Midland, Justin McClure of Midland; son Ernie Matsler and his children Brooke, Chance and Bailey Matsler; grandson Robert McClure of East Mansfield, OH; and grandson Daniel McClure. Bennett was the proud great grandfather to 14 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by wife Carol, son Dean, parents Ruby and Orin, and his sister Elaine Black.
