Johnny Wayne Wells

STANTON - Johnny Wayne Wells, 71 of Stanton, died Oct. 9, 2021 surrounded by his family. A Graveside Service was Oct. 12, at the Evergreen Cemetery Chapel.

He was born Jan. 7, 1950, in Big Spring, and married Janet Pearson Feb. 21, 2008 in Stanton. He was raised in Stanton. After graduating from Stanton High School he went on to pursue a career in the oil field. He started working as a floor hand and over the years worked his way up to drilling superintendent. He worked over 50 years in the oil field, and it was true passion. He became a known legend in the oil field and his family was very proud of him. He was the first to arrive at work and the last to arrive home in the evenings. He passed on strong work ethics to his girls. He taught us that nothing is given, and nothing is free in life. If you get something free in life it came because of someone else’s sacrifices. He was always a strong working man and had big working hands to help anyone that needed his assistance. He never turned down an opportunity to get out and work and help someone in need. He enjoyed working it is what made him Johnny. The long hours, time away from home, and the money always kept him going back for more. It was a way of life and one he loved to talk about.

He married Donna Lane and they have three children, Billy, Trisha, and Kasey. He partied as hard as he worked but turned his life around to raise his girls. Family was the most important thing in his life. He would never miss an event or family function if he could help it. If he was out in your area, you know he would be dropping by to say hello. His love of family and friends is what kept him thriving. He loved to be surrounded by the chatter of everyone in the chaos of everyday life. He later went on to marry Janet Pearson in 2008, with whom she had two kids Heather and Christopher Eastwood. He worked hard to be a loving, doting husband and always cared so deeply for Jan. He always tried to help lessen the burden of those around him. Rather he was out in the garden or attending to their animals, he kept busy. He was not a fighter but a peacekeeper among his family. He was the sweetest man and a genuine good ol’ boy. His love of sweets must have kept him sweet because there wasn’t a desert dad could turn down. His enthusiasm in life overflowed. He was well respected, honored and adored by all those that new him in the community. His family will miss his grin, kind heart and his hugs the most. His generous sweet spirit was unmatched. Until we meet again, may he rest in peace.
