GREENWOOD - Wayne Barber, 71 of Greenwood, died Dec. 23, 2021. Funeral services were Dec. 29, 2021, at the Nalley-Pickle & Welch Rosewood Chapel. Interment followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Stanton.
He was born May 22, 1950 in Lamesa, and married Brenda Graves on Jan. 25, 1969, in Big Spring.
He worked at Safeway for several years before going to work for the United States Postal Service where he worked many years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved spending time with his family and telling BIG stories.
He was a member of Greenwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Brenda Barber; son Donald Barber and wife Laura; daughter Jill Moss; brother Bobby Barber and wife Cheryl; sister Sylvia Rodriguez; and six grandchildren, Hannah Moss, Jeromy Moss, Chelsea Barber, Ashlin Barber, Clayton Barber and Carson Barber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Bennie Holland Barber; and one sister, Louise Huitt.
