MIDLAND - Hazel Mary Burgess, 90, died Jan. 28, 2022, at Midland Memorial Hospital after a short-fought battle with Covid. She touched the hearts of every person she met with her kind soul and poise. She loved dancing, music, and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Minnie Elizabeth Wall; both her first husband Kenneth Ray Large, her second husband Colin Burgess; her oldest son Kyle Richard Large; her daughter Kimberly Rae Large; her sister Silvia; brother-in-law Jim Howell; and sister-in-law Helen Thrailkill.
She is survived by her sons Kevin Large of Caerleon, Wales, UK. Cody and Drew Large of Midland; Kristina Brink Large of Fort Worth; Grandchildren Kurt and Scott Large of Caerleon, Wales, UK; Rian Large (Cassie) of Bad Axe, Michigan; Kayleigh Stipanovich (Adam) of Midland; Harriet O’Shea (Lee) of Wales; her four great grandchildren Hazel, Londyn, Clara, and Willow; niece Pat High of Stanton; nephew David & Heather Howell of England; and Niece Cerys and Gary Vizard of Wales. She is also survived by many cousins, second cousins and their families from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean with whom she shares lifelong memories and love.
A celebration of life will be Feb. 12, at the Doubletree Hotel in Midland from 4pm-7pm.
