William Baker

BEDFORD - William E. Baker, 93 of Bedford, died Mar. 24, 2022.

He was born Dec. 18, 1928, in Witchita Falls, to Earl and Phoebe (Van Horn) Baker.

He grew up in Garden City, before enlisting in the United States Air Force, serving from 1947-1950. William then attended Texas Tech University before moving to the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex where he worked for LTV for 39 years.

On July 5, 1947, he married Bobbie Lea and together they celebrated 71 years of marriage before her passing in 2018. The two met at a roller skating rink in their younger years with William declaring “dibs on the little one.” William and Bobbie resided in Arlington, from 1964 to 2018.

He is survived by his daughter, Deborah Ann Lucko, and her husband, Phyllip; his son, David Edward Baker, and his wife, Janis; his grandchildren: Michael, Rebecca, Zachariah, Evangeline, and Ryan; and 8 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie; parents, Earl and Phoebe; his brothers, Earl and Bob; and his sister, Janet.
