Brandon Dell Smith

MIDLAND - Brandon Dell Smith, 38, of Midland, died on July 3, 2022 in Midland. The family received friends on July 7, at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Nalley-Pickle & Welch Chapel, with Pastor David Belloc officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Cemetery.

He was born on Sept. 21, 1983 to Rick and Debi Smith in Stanton. He attended Greenwood ISD from kindergarten through 12th grade, graduating in 2002. He played multiple sports. In little league, he was known as “The Terminator”. Always in basketball, he had to be reminded not to tackle the other players. He played varsity football during his 10th through 12th grades and was the starting quarterback in his junior and senior years. He made lasting friends and never met a stranger.

He worked with his dad at Tuboscope and different oil field companies in the Permian Basin. Most recently, he worked at Nissan Midland which fulfilled his passion in meeting people.

He was the sweetest and most caring young man. He loved dogs and brought home many strays. His smile was charismatic and was always on his face.

He was famous with everyone about his love for ketchup. He would say “I put ketchup on my ketchup”.

He will be in our hearts forever.

He is survived by his parents, Rick and Debi Smith; his brother, Michael Smith (fiancé Dallas); one niece, Madison and two nephews, Colton and Payton; three children, Kylee, Baylor and Cooper; grandmother Charlene Felton; aunts and uncles, Ravona (Mark) Lloyd, Rodney (Cindy) Smith, Royce (Patty) Smith, Bennie (Kent) Kuykendall, Jerry (Teresa) Taylor, Ronnie Taylor, Sharon (Allan) McCarty, and Sherry Taylor; numerous cousins; and his beloved dog Daisy.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother Jewell Taylor, his grandfathers, Perry Smith and William W. Smith, his cousin Clayton Smith and his uncle James Taylor.

Pallbearers were be Kayln Rhea, Braxton McCarty, Brandon Audus, Seth Summers, Gene Siller, and Doug Wohleking. Honorary pallbearers will be Junior Montoya and Nathan Valencia.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be donated to Breaking Bread or Meals on Wheels.
