Local FFA attend El Rancho District Greenhand Day

Over 260 Freshmen and FFA Advisors from 9 school districts converged on Sands High School to participate in the annual El Rancho District Greenhand Day. The freshmen were treated to games, fellowship and pizza. The annual event is organized and presented by the El Rancho District officers.

The Area 2 President and Vice-President were on hand to discuss their experiences with FFA and encourage the students to get involved in their local Chapter, District & Area through service and competitions. FFA Greenhand’s participated in workshops about SAE’s, FFA degrees, official dress, communication skills and learned a few new dance moves. The day was topped off by the ceremonial dipping of the hand in green paint. El Rancho District covers most of the Permian Basin. The Chapters in attendance were Grady, Garden City, Stanton, Andrews, Coahoma, Forsan, Greenwood, Reagan County, and the host Chapter Sands.
