STANTON - Jamel Lee Cohen, 12, died Oct. 6, 2022 in Stanton. He was born on June 4, 2010, in Kermit, to Dale and Cheryl Ann (Beilke) Cohen.
He had an unforgettable personality and was known as “Bubba” or “Chunky Butt” by his family. He loved school and had a special relationship with his teachers, especially Mrs. Jenny, Mrs. King and many others. He loved to swim like a fish and he loved books, especially Mickey Mouse. His favorite cartoons were Shrek and Toy Story. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his mother Cheryl Cohen of Stanton; grandmother Marci Spoke of Milwaukee, WI; brothers Kenny Spoke and Jamie Spoke, both of Milwaukee, WI; sister Cassandra Lee of Milwaukee, WI; aunts Patsy, Rachel and Sara, all of Kermit. Jamel was closest to Jose Morales “Uncle Joe or Joe Daddy” of Kermit; sweetest friend Katie of Odessa; and his home away from home with Marina Madrid of Midland.
He was preceded in death by his father Dale Cohen. A memorial services will be at 2 pm on Oct. 15, at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit.
In lieu of flowers, toy or book donations may be made to any children’s charity of choice.
