Senaido Hernandez

STANTON - Senaido Hernandez, Jr., (J.R., Sandy), 90, died peacefully at his home on Jan. 3, 2023. Rosary was Jan. 9, at Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton. Funeral Mass was Jan. 10, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Stanton with internment following at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Stanton. He was born on March 2, 1932, in Stanton, to Maria and Senaido Hernandez, Sr. He was educated in Stanton and was employed throughout his work life there as well. He retired from Martin County after many years of loyal service. He was a devout Catholic that believed in is Faith in God. He enjoyed get-togethers with his family and friends whenever possible. He was an avid Hunter having many experiences with his friends and extended family. He always had a warm, friendly demeanor toward any new and/ or familiar faces.

He is survived by his second wife, Carolina C. Hernandez of Midland; sister Ramona Esparza of Stanton; daughters Delma Hernandez, Anna Natividad, Sylvia Munoz, Lisa Salazar, all from Midland; stepchildren Lupe Gonzales of Vian, OK, Daniel Gonzales of Weatherford, Sylvia Guzman, Henry Gonzales, Louis Gonzales, Ruben Gonzales, all from Midland.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Carolina B. Hernandez and son Sammy Hernandez, both from Midland; parents Senaido Sr. and Maria Hernandez of Stanton; sisters Elisa Gonzales, Belen Silva, Josefa Ramos, all from Stanton; brothers Manuel Hernandez of Odessa, Frank Hernandez, of Midland, Felipe Hernandez, and Fred Hernandez, both from Stanton.

Pallbearers were Chris Garza, Garner Gonzales, John Natividad, Jessie Guzman, Jr., Kegan Garza, Louis Gonzales, Jr.

He was a beloved husband, father, stepfather and stepgrandfather that enjoyed, many grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and several great, great grandchildren.

Arrangements were under the direction of Gilbreath Funeral Home in Stanton.
