Forsan still best Buffalo team roaming the Permian Basin

STANTON – Forsan remained undefeated and improved to 3-0 on the season after defeating Stanton 45-7 Friday night in pre-district action. Forsan would control the line of scrimmage and use a dominant run game to rack up nearly 400 yards rushing and five touchdowns.

Junior high Lady Buffs win team title

MONAHANS – Stanton’s high school and junior high cross country teams traveled to Monahans last week to run in the Lobo’s Invitational. The junior high girls dominated and won the team championship. Allyson Barrera led the team with a sixth place finish.

No. 7 Klondike bests Grady 62-16

LENORAH – No. 7-ranked Klondike took advantage of several injuries to Grady starters with a huge second quarter to defeat Grady in a mercyrule win, Friday at Tunnell Field.

Junior high Cats fall to Klondike 46-0

KLONDIKE – Grady’s junior high football team struggled with the very talented Klondike Cougars last Thursday losing 46-0. Charles Deatherage led Grady’s offense with 53 yards rushing on 10 carries.

Grady cross country had good week

LUBBOCK - Grady’s high school cross country teams were in Lubbock this past week competing in the Lubbock Christian University Chaps Invitational on Sept. 11 at the Chaparral Golf Course. The varsity boys division had 271 individual runners. Running for Grady: 89. Hagan O’Donnell, 20:02.

Focus will be emphasized following 54-8 loss to Water Valley

WATER VALLEY – Water Valley’s offense and defense were hitting on all cylinders Friday night leading to a mercy rule win over Garden City. Water Valley rushed the ball 25 times for 294 yards and six touchdowns and only threw the ball twice for one completion of 34 yards and one touchdown.

Young Bearkats host cross country meet

GARDEN CITY – Garden City’s junior high cross country teams hosted the Bearkat Invitational last week. The girls team finished second in the team standings with 39 points, just five shy of first place Grady. Greenwood took third place with 51 points and Forsan was fourth with 105.
Garden City running back Sebastian Balcazar had a superb night rushing for 197 yard and two touchdowns against O’Donnell. The Bearkats won easily 48-0.

Loraine Bulldogs top Grady Wildcats 68-22

GRADY - In Friday's non-district match, the visiting Loraine Bulldogs scored an impressive 68-22 victory over the Grady Wildcats. The two teams looked to make it an offensive shoot out at the start of the game matching each other point for point.

Merkel crushes Stanton homecoming celebration

STANTON – The Stanton Buffaloes massively underperformed last week allowing the Merkel Badgers to spoil Stanton’s Homecoming. When push came to shove it was apparent Stanton was just as talented and could have stomped the Badgers, but it was Stanton’s constant blunders that sealed the deal.
