– Garden City Powerlifter Lynette Wittrein was in Colorado City over the weekend competiting in the THSWPA Class 1A-2A Region 1 Div.3 Meet. She placed 5th in her division. Weight Class 220 5. Lynette Wittrein (330 squat, 160 bench , 335 deadlift - 825 total)

Garden City Bearkats crowned Area champions with 56-53 win over Iraan

- It was an exciting game last Friday at the Junell Center in San Angelo as Garden City and Iraan traded blows trying to win the Class A Area Championship. Iraan landed the first big blow with a 16-11 first quarter.

Woods wins Garden City Tournament

- The Bearkats and Lady Kats competed in the Bearkat Shootout Golf Tournament at Bentwood Country Club on Monday. The Lady Kats did not have a team but played very well. Rylee Wood shot an 80 and won the tournament by 4 strokes. Briana Halfmann shot a 96 and finished 5th.

Grady’s Chapman named District 8-A MVP

– The Grady Wildcats were well represented on the recently released All-District 8-A Basketball Teams. Grady senior guard Chapman Sims garnered the top superlative honor and was named District Most Valuable Player. The Wildcats making the first team were Hunter McAnally and Hagan O’Donnell.

Lady Wildcats win Garden City Tournament

- The Grady varsity girls golf team put together a set of exceptional rounds to win the Garden City Tournament on Monday at Bentwood Country Club in San Angelo. Grady won the tournament with a team score of 427 strokes followed by Veribest in second with a 429, and Coahoma in third with a 452.

Wildcats fall to Mortin Indians in Class A Bi-District game

- The Grady Wildcats basketball season came to an end Tuesday night in the Bi-District round of the Class A playoff at Tahoka High School. The Wildcats were up against Morton in what promised to be a highly competitive contest.

Bearkats bring home gold basketball

The Garden City Bearkats swatted away the Menard Yellowjackets to win the Class A Bi-District Title Tuesday night at San Angelo Lake View High School. Menard got their crowd involved early scoring on back-to-back three point buckets from Kade Rayburn.

All district honors announced for District 8 basketball

- The All-District selections for District 8 basketball have been announced for the 2023-2024 season. Grady had seven players selected to the teams including on being chosen for a superlative honor. Freshman Brynee Madison was named New Comer of The Year. She averaged 5.4 points per game and 6.

Lady Kats win Class A Area championship

- The Garden City Lady Bearkats are the Region II Class A Area Champions after crushing Balmorhea 50-26 at Rankin High School on Thursday. The Lady Kats were the better team from the start. They opened the game with a 16-6 run and piled on another 14 points for a 30-16 halftime lead.
