Junior High Buffaloes fall to Odessa Compass

ODESSA - Sometimes it takes just one bad quarter for someone to lose to a good team. Thats what happened to the Stanton seventh grade boys. Odessa had a great third quarter and won the game 3219. Smith scored a team high eight points to lead Stanton.

Stanton junior varsity looks unbeatable

STANTON – The Stanton junior varsity Red team is playing at a high level and racking up wins. First up was the Forsan Buffaloes. The black and white Buffaloes thought they had a chance to win the game after taking a 15-12 halftime lead.

Lady Kats win streak increases by four

GARDEN CITY – Garden City’s varsity girls have looked exceptional the last two weeks and their record shows as four for win were added to the left column. On Dec. 12, Garden City took on Winters.

Lady Kats are runner-up at Bearkat Klassic

GARDEN CITY– The Garden City Lady Kats had a spectacular run at the Bearkat Klassic last weekend, bowling over the competion to the championship and finishing second behind Christoval. Garden City opend the tournament on Thursday with two impressive wins.

Middle School Buffaloes finish third at District UIL Academic Meet

- Young Women’s Leadership Academy won the Middle School UIL Academic Meet with 874 points in Crane last week. Wink was second with 778 and Stanton took third place with 627 points. Crane, Odessa Compass, and UTPB STEM went 4-6. Sixth Grade Art 4.

Wildcats rebound to place third at Garden City Bearkat Klassic

– The Grady Wildcats had a great weekend down south in Garden City at the Bearkat Klassic winning four out of five games and taking third place. “I feel like we accomplished a lot in the in this tournament. I think we are finding our identity as a team and our individuals roles.

JV Cats shine at Wink Tournament

- The Junior Varsity Lady Cats traveled to the Wink Tournament and the Lady Cats won their first two games on Thursday and lost their only game on Saturday. Grady opened the tournament against Jal in a highly contested match-up.

GARDEN CITY- The Grady Varsity Lady Cats played in the Garden City basketball tournament this past weekend. The Lady Cats played five games winning two and losing three. On Thursday the Lady Cats opened the tournament a loss to Crane and another loss to Fort Hancock.

Stanton Buffaloes split Hooptown games

The Stanton Buffaloes hosted the Annual Pinky Jones Hooptown Classic in Stanton last weekend and split their four games. Stanton opened the tournament with a hard fought victory over Pecos. The Buffs held a 24-22 at halftime but trailed by one point after the third quarter.

- Stanton’s seventh grade boys basketball team took on a talented Odessa Compass Cougars team on Dec. 7. Both teams started slow with Odessa taking a slim 4-2 lead after the first quarter and managed to bump its advantage of 10-7 by halftime.
