GARDEN CITY - For 12-years Mr. Barfield has been a solid foundation for the UIL Academic programs at Garden City. The UIL recognizes special educators that have made a difference in students lives. Mr. Barfield won the Sponsor Excellent Award and received a gift of $1,000 from the UIL.

Lady Kats dominate Shootout, Woods takes second

SAN ANGELO - The Bearkats and Lady Kats traveled to Bentwood Country Club in San Angelo to play in the Bearkat Shootout Golf Tournament. The boys finished 5th as a team. The girls won the tournament shooting a 429. Rylee Wood came in 2nd shooting a 98 and Kara Roberts was 4th with a 106.

Wildcats cool off Dragons winning Class A Area Title

LUBBOCK – The Grady Wildcats held off a late charge from the Paducah Dragons to claim the Class A Area title Friday night at Lubbock Cooper High School. Grady’s offense caught Paducah napping at the start of the game and lit up the scoreboard with five three-pointers.

Bearkats maul Broncos in bi-district championship

LAMESA - The Garden City Bearkats played some inspired basketball Tuesday night beating up the Meadow Broncos to win the Class A Bi-District Championship at O.W. Follis Gymnasium in Lamesa. Garden City got off to a blistering start winning the tip-off and going on a 14-2 run in the first quarter.

Wildcats dominate Longhorn winning bi-district

GRADY – It was a complete team effort with the Grady Wildcats blowing out the Loop Longhorn to win the Class A Bi-District championship on Leland ‘Buck’ Caffey Court at Seminole High School on Tuesday. Grady came out of the gate blazing and took an early 16-9 lead.

MERKEL - For the second year in a row, the San Angelo TLCA Eagles flew past the Stanton Buffaloes to win the Class AAA Bi-District Championship at Merkel High School on Tuesday.

Stanton wins regional qualifier meet

STANTON - The Stanton Lady Buffaloes competed in the last girls regional qualifier last week and took first place in the team standings. Individually the Lady Buffs qualified six lifters for the Region I meet: 105 lb Division - Paisley Carby placed second with a total lift 465 pounds.
