BIG LAKE - The Garden City golf teams traveled to Big Lake to compete in the Owl Invitational Golf Tournament. The Lady Kats team of Rylee Wood, Kara Roberts, Shelby Braden, Briana Halfmann, and Amber Schwartz finished first with a 396.

Junior Buffaloes capture three titles in inaugural seasons

STANTON - The Stanton Junior Buffaloes expanded its reach to the basketball court this year offering Stanton youth a chance to play basketball around the Permian Basin. In its first year, three girls teams captured the playoff gold after winning the year end tournament last weekend in Wellman.

Amberlie Davis exhibited the 9th Place Medium Wool Sheep at the San Antonio Stock Show.

WEST TEXAS - Glasscock County Stock Show exhibitors have been all over the state the past few weeks. Most recently were the San Antonio Sheep and Goat Show and the San Angelo Barrow Show.

SAN ANGELO – The Wall Lady Hawks used a high-pressure defense to defeat the Stanton Lady Buffaloes a 53-23 in the Class 3A girls basketball bi-district contest Tuesday night at the Junell Center in San Angelo. From the tip, Wall’s extended man-to-man defense caused Stanton’s guards trouble.

Bearkats destroy Coyotes, claim district runner-up

GARDEN CITY - Garden City’s varsity boys basketball team had three district games left on the schedule and ran the table securing the district runner-up. The Bearkats dominated all three games by double digits. The first victims were the Klondike Cougars losing 55- 41.

SEMINOLE – The opening round of the girl’s Class A state playoffs is in the books with dozens of teams moving on in celebration and just as many heading home in disappointment. Grady and No. 24 Whiteface battled it out Monday night on Leland ‘Buck’ Caffey Court at Seminole High School in Seminole.

STANTON - Stanton’s junior high girls basketball teams wrapped up the seasons last week against Sonora. Both seventh grade teams walked off the court victorious with the A team dominating 43-12 and the B team winning a close battle 22-19.

STANTON - Stanton’s varsity boys basketball team lost the last game of the district season to first place Reagan County but managed to secure a third place seed for the Class AAA state playoffs. Reagan County outscored Stanton in all four quarters but by the slimmest of margins.

Grady Wildcats win district title

GRADY – The Grady Wildcats got off to a slow start this season and were sitting at 12-8 before coming together and going on a remarkable run and winning the 2021-22 District 8A championship. The district crown was solidified last week with a hard-fought victory over Midland TLCA.
