Glasscock County releases Dec. Stats

– The Glasscock County Sheriff’s Office has released the stats for the month of December 2024.Officers responded to 50 calls for services and handed out 384 citations.

– Exhibitors had a wonderful time last weekend at the 88th Annual Glasscock County Junior Livestock Show in Garden City.Grand Champion winners were Waylyn Davis, Hayzen Halfmann, Lacy Seidenberger, Blaise McMillan, and Bronc Gass.

Garden City JV suffers first loss of season

– The Garden City junior varsity Lady Kats took their win streak to 18 wins, but all good things eventually come to an end as Ropes handed the Lady Kats their first loss this week.The last game of 2024 took place on Dec. 31 against Sands.Garden City nearly doubled up Sands winning 39-20.

– The Garden City Lady Kats continue to impress coaches around the state and have climbed to No. 13 TABC and No. 4 TGCA in the Class A State Basketball Ranking.On Jan. 7, Garden City jumped a couple classes in competition to battle Ropes.

Bearkats fall to Robert Lee, rebound to defeat Bronte

– Garden City’s varsity boys split their district games this week with Robert Lee and Bronte.Against Robert Lee, the Bearkats had a slow start putting them in a 16-6 hole. A spectacular second quarter ate up a lot of the deficit but Robert Lee still had a 27-24 halftime advantage.
