STANTON - Nicolas “Nick” H. Sanchez, 95, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Nick was born on Oct. 9, 1930, in Stanton, to Francisco and Maria Sanchez.
Nick was a longtime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where he serviced his parish as a Knight of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his wife Aurora Sanchez; his son, Ruben Sanchez; his parents, Francisco and Maria Sanchez; his brothers, Erene Sanchez, Simon Sanchez, Francisco Sanchez, Casimiro Sanchez and Hipolito Sanchez; and his sisters, Trinidad Salazar, Emma Esparza and Maria A. Sanchez.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Gina and husband Eddie Thomas; his brothers Ysidro Sanchez and Basilio Sanchez; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and his extended family.
Visitation and rosary were Sept. 21, at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass was Sept. 22, at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Servicing as pallbearers were Matt Thomas, Mitch Thomas, Mason Thomas, Nicky Sanchez, Tristyn Sanchez and Xander Sanchez.
