Raymond Marquez, Sr.

STANTON - Raymond Marquez, Sr. died Dec. 5, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. osary was at Stanton Memorial Funeral Home on Dec. 7 and 8. Funeral Mass was Dec. 9, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery in Stanton.

He was born to Daniel and Rosa Marquez on Sept. 17, 1948, in Sierra Blanca. They later came to Stanton where he married Mary Linda Silva Marquez and had three children. He loved being with his family, having a good time, listening to oldies riding around town, fishing, playing cards and dominoes, and would always put a smile on your face.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rosa and Daniel Marquez Sr.; brothers, Miguel Marquez, Augustine Marquez, Macario Marquez Sr., Daniel “Nene” Marquez, Timo Marquez; and sister, Leonor Urbina.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Linda Marquez; son, Raymond Marquez Jr.; daughters; Christina Muñiz, Cynthia Marquez; sisters, Elisa Aguirre, Mary Lou Sotelo, Margie Flores; brothers, Jesus Marquez, Cleto Marquez, Anastacio Marquez, Andres Marquez, Manuel Marquez, Joe Luis Marquez, Lorenzo Marquez Sr.; grandchildren Jovi Nevarez, Jovon Nevarez, Kaitlyn Muñiz, Kristyn Muñiz Brianna Marquez, Noah Marquez; great grandchildren, Ashton Nevarez and Ellie Montes.

Serving as pallbearers were Jovi Nevarez, Jovon Nevarez, Javier Muñiz, Manuel Rodriguez, Henry Munoz, and Raymond Marquez Jr.

Arrangements were under the direction of Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.
