EDMOND, OK - Clara Peters Odom Holliman, age 92, of Edmond, OK, died Dec. 31, 2019 at Ascension Seton Williamson in Round Rock.

She was born in Jourdanton on Oct. 15, 1927, to John and Fredericka Peters. She graduated from Stanton High School in Stanton. She was married to W. Paul Odom in 1945, with whom she had two daughters, Ricka and Carmen. Then in 1959 she married W.E. Holliman, with whom she had one daughter, Donna.

She worked as a hairdresser for many years at Baptist Memorial Retirement Community in San Angelo. In 2005 she became a resident there, where she made many friends. She was passionate about watching old westerns and listening to country music; she also loved longhorn cattle, antiques, good art, homecooking and roses. She was a devout Catholic and a proud Texan. Her family were pioneers in bringing Catholicism to Texas in the late 1800’s.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters and brother, two spouses, two grandsons, and several close friends and neighbors. She is survived by her daughters Ricka Hambrick and husband Dennis of Edmond, OK, Carmen Glass and husband Burnell of Rowena, and Donna Gully and husband Stuart of Wall. She had nine grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

Funeral arrangements were under the care of Johnson’s Funeral Home. Catholic Mass occured at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Jan. 7, followed by graveside service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Stanton.

in 2006. He was a leader in the electric utility industry making Cap Rock Electric the first electric cooperative in US to go public, then take private, and then sell. During his life he was an entrepreneur doing many other things, including owning a chain of weight loss businesses, and selling insurance, ranking in the top fifty producers of a life insurance company even after twenty years selling his last insurance policy.

After his retirement he enjoyed traveling, visiting all of the continents, and over 40 countries with his wife Pat. He loved his family, especially Pat. He was an overachiever and lived by his mantra “never give up”. He was faithful to God, maintained dignity, integrity and grace in every area of his life.

He is preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Ann (Roach) Pruitt in November 1998, parents Dorothy Ward Pruitt and Marion Menoah (M.M.) Pruitt.

He is survived by his wife of twenty years Patricia Ann (Smith) Pruitt, sister, Janet Evelyn Pruitt, daughter Jana Alison Pruitt True and husband Spencer True, sons John David Pruitt and Charles Tyler Pruitt, step-daughter Jennifer Hamilton Bingo and husband Kyle Bingo, and seven grandchildren; Aaron Patrick Shipp, Brandon Michael Pruitt, Mason Dixon Pruitt, Ethan David Pruitt, Kirsten Rose Pruitt, Peyton Nicole Pruitt, and Emma Sakura Bingo.

Services were Jan. 9, at First United Methodist Church in Midland with a reception immediately following in the Atrium at Petroleum Club of Midland.

An additional service will be held in Greenville on Jan. 11, at 2 p.m. at Coker Matthews Funeral Home with graveside burial at Hogeye Cemetery in Celeste.
