- The Garden City girls golf team will get a change to defend their state title after winning its fifth straight regional title. The Lady Kats won the Region II-A Golf Tournament on Tuesday at San Angelo’s Bentwood Country Club.

– Track and Field teams from Districts 11 and 12 meet at Robert Lee High School on Apr. 11 to compete in the Class A Area Track and Field Meet.

- The Garden City Varsity and Junior Varsity Tennis Teams competed at the Shallowater Mustang Classic in Lubbock and the JV Shallowater Invitational last week The Bearkats and Lady Kats competed against schools from classifications ranging from 2A, 3A, 4A and TAPPS schools.

- Glasscock County FFA CDE teams competed in the Texas Tech Area Meet on Apr. 13.

– Grady High School joined all the other high school from Districts 7 and 8 at Sundown High School to compete in the Class 1AArea Track and Field Meet on Apr. 11.

- Grady golf is heading to state after Audrey Marler won the individual title and the girls team finished second at the Region I Golf Tournament at the Reese Golf Center in Lubbock Apr. 15 and 16.

- The Stanton Lady Buffaloes piled up 14 hits in an exciting 1110 walk-off home victory over Hermleigh on Monday in a non-district game. With the game tied at 10-10 in the bottom of the seventh inning and Aubrey Villa standing on third, Lacey Smith picked out a pitch she liked and drove in the winning run.

- Grady’s One-Act-Play will be competing at the Area competition on Apr. 13 at Post. Plays will begin at 3 p.m. and Grady is the fourth performance of the day. If you would like to watch Grady’s performance, it’s recommended to be present by 5 p.m.

– The Grady Wildcats brought home another UIL title after crushing the competition at the District 8-1A UIL Speech & Academic Meet. Calculator 1st Place -Team 1.

The Grady High School and Junior High track teams were in Welch this past week competing in the District 8A Track and Field Championships. The varsity girls and junior high girls won the district titles while the varsity boys finished as District Runner-Up.
